According to Nokishita, a camera rumor site that has proven to be pretty reliable in the past, the long awaited Canon Powershot G7X iii is about to be released into an unsuspecting world. This would be the latest iteration of the G7x series which has become a favourite of many vloggers. Canonrumors.com has published the unverified specs for the new camera. Here they are:

I'm a huge Canon camera fan so I'm pretty excited about this addition to their lineup. I'm encouraged that Canon's engineers chose to add an external microphone input to this camera. It's also pretty cool that they've added 120 fps in FHD and 4K video recording. These specs give me hope. Maybe Canon is ready to up their game in the video department of their consumer camera division. I've been a loyal Canon user for over 10 years, but recently, I purchased a Sony mirrorless. That admission may be enough to garner some hate in the comment section, but, I'm ok with that. I've used Sony cameras for almost as long as I've used Canon. I'm a huge fan of both companies. In my opinion, Sony offered a more advanced feature set at a much lower price than anything Canon could provide at the time. However, if these rumoured specifications prove to be correct, the Powershot G7X iii might just restore my faith in Canon. And it might push me to open my wallet again...but not just yet.
